Welcome
With the beginning of a new academic year, the UA SEG Student Chapter is pleased to roll out a newly updated website. It has been a busy year so far, with one short course down and another about to take off, a mineral sale, and a field trip during the autumn semester.
Looking forward, this spring semester our members will be busy with research projects, fundraising, community service activities, and planning and organizing potential field trips.
Please take a look around our new website and contact us with any further questions you may have.
Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to the home of the University of Arizona’s Society of Economic Geologists Student Chapter!
“Any geologists worth their salt should be able to recognise the principle economic minerals and rocks, for it is their duty to consider the economic, as well as the purely scientific, aspects of any area they map. To ignore them, or to consider them beneath their scientific dignity, as some do and freely admit, is intellectual snobbery” (Barnes & Lisle, 2004:105).
