The Environmental Isotope Laboratory offers one of the most complete arrays of analytical services of any laboratory in the US.
 
    NOTE: The Radiocarbon Lab has closed. Please contact the NSF-Arizona Accelerator facility for radiocarbon dating services.
 
TURN AROUND TIME
Estimated – large backlogs can increase this. Please contact us if your samples are time sensitive:
Tritium: 12 to 15 weeks
Stable isotope measurements:
C N O H: 3 to 5 weeks
Water O H C: 3 to 5 weeks
S isotopes are measured every two months: Feb, April, June, Aug, Oct, Dec.
 
RUSH Sample Processing is available; please enquire for prices.
Water O and H in 5 business days.
Organic matter C and/or N in 7 business days.
 
COST and additional information:
Tritium content in Water Samples: 
  • $190 per sample.
  • Detection limit 0.5 TU, or 1.3 pCi/L for 9X enrichment

Helpful Hints
  1. Simple sample identification systems (e.g.   AB-1, AB-2…..) save us time, and reduce the likelihood of errors.  
  2. For large sample sets, please send by e-mail an Excel spreadsheet listing the samples in a logical order.
  3. Prices quoted do not include extra sample preparation such as drying, powdering, separating from filters, carbonate removal.
  4. Please tell us if we are handling hazardous samples.
 
Sample Storage Policy
Unless we make another arrangement at client request, we will retain leftover sample materials for one year, then dispose of them.
