Research Interests
I am interested in crustal deformation and crustal and upper mantle structure estimated from passive experiments using broadband and short-period instruments. I am also interested in the geomorphologic expressions of active faults, seismic signal identification (explosions, earthquakes, and volcanic tremors), seismic hazards, and the mitigation of the negative effects of earthquakes.
The geographic regions of my interests are Southern Central America, the Central Andes, and the Far East of Russia. For my PhD research, I am working on the lithospheric structure of Northern Costa Rica and I am involved in the SIEMBRA project that the Department of Geosciences at U of A is developing in the Sierras Pampeanas region of Argentina.
