Research Interests
I am interested in crustal deformation and crustal and mantle structure using passive broadband and short-period instruments. I am also interested in the geomorphologic expressions of active faults, seismic signal identification (explosions, earthquakes, and volcanic tremors), seismic hazards, the mitigation of the negative effects of earthquakes, and the role of shallow/flat subduction in mountain building and its effects in the upper plate.
The geographic regions of my interests are Southern Central America, the Central Andes, and the Far East of Russia. For my PhD research, I am involved in the SIEMBRA project that the Department of Geosciences at U of A is developing in the Sierras Pampeanas region of Argentina.
