I am a lecturer, teaching a large enrollment general education class NATS 101 – A Geological Perspective (see Teaching link below).  Before coming to U of A, I did my PhD at UCLA, where my interests were in isotope geochemistry and geochronology, as well as understanding the evolution of the Nyainqentanglha Shan, a mountain range in southern Tibet.  Prior to that I did a Masters in Geology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, working with Calvin Miller in the Eldorado Mountains of SW Nevada. I completed my Bachelors in Geology at Syracuse University.

My passion is for teaching, and my goal is to constantly better myself as a teacher.  NATS 101 is constantly evolving in an effort to make it more interesting, exciting, and relatable to my 300 students.  “A Geological Perspective” is an interactive class that requires participation on the part of the students.  If you have been a student of my class in the past, I always love to hear feedback about your experience, and suggestions for ways to make it better.  Drop me an email!
