BATHOLITHS Continental Dynamics Project

The BATHOLITHS project is a collaborative research effort designed to investigate the magmatic distillation process that leads to the formation of continental crust and the fate of ultramafic residual that compliment batholith formation. Scientists from more than a half dozen institutions from both the U.S. and Canada are actively participating in this project. These researchers are collecting geochemical/petrological, structural and metmorphic, both passive and active source seismic, geochronologic, and gravimetric data from the Late Cretaceous-early Tertiary Coast Plutonic Complex of western British Columbia, Canada.
