Geodynamics

The geophysics group has an active program in geodynamics, loosely defined here as the study of the forces involved in geologic processes, such as the driving mechanism for plate tectonics, intraplate deformation, mountain building, and strain accumulation and release on plate boundaries.

Group members include:

  • Randy Richardson

  • Clem Chase

  • David Coblentz

  • Andy Freed
