The geoynamics research effort in the Department of Geosciences involves a number of faculty and students. At the present moment this home page only describes the efforts of Randy Richardson and his current and recent students. Their research efforts have concentrated on the role of gravitational potential energy in plate tectonics, testing the seismic gap hypothesis, and modeling ridge morphology. At a later date the work of others in the department with a geodynamical bent will be included in this home page.
