Red lines to the south are low-angle normal faults. Black lines represent thrust faults, which are also subterrane boundaries. Wavy lines under the North Slope indicate subsurface folding.

In reality, the structures of the Brooks Range are more complex and varying amounts of erosion have exposed different subterranes. Also, the geology varies along strike since some subterranes did not span the entire E-W length of the orogen.
