Major:   Creative Writing
Hometown:   Austin, TX
About myself:   I'm a sophomore transfer student and I went to Earlham College, a small, private college in Indiana, last year. I've lived in eight houses and gone to twelve different schools. I have one sister. She is graduating from highschool this year and she and I are very close.

Writing is my passion, I've been writing since I was ten and I came to the UofA to find a writing community and to pursue a degree in Creative Writing. I also love to read. My favorite genre of novel is fantasy and my favorite poets are William Stafford, Carolyn Forche, Jack Gilbert and Adrienne Rich.

I've never been really interested in science, finding it boring and difficult, though I have been exposed to it plenty since my parents both went to medical school, my father being a psychiatrist and my mother a pediatrician with a specialty in child abuse. My sister and I both know child abuse better than most doctors, which is terrible for this world and amazing to me. I'm not really sure how I ended up a would-be writer instead of a would-be scientist, but writing is my passion and science and math things I have always avoided.

My goals for NSC 105:   I admit, I'm only taking this class to get a lab science done.
