Volunteers in Your Labs

Dear faculty and researchers - If you are going to have volunteers in your labs, please note that they must have signed a Volunteer Agreement Form. Volunteers are not maintained in PSOS and do not have direct access to University services but a Net ID and email account may be obtained on behalf of volunteers by the sponsoring department.

The Volunteer Agreement Form can be obtained from Enedina in Room 208.
The form will be kept in department and is important for accidental and state liability insurance coverage purposes.

Insurance Coverage

University Affiliates, Associates and Volunteers are not directly covered by the State's Workers' Compensation program, but volunteers and other unpaid employees of the University are covered under the State Volunteer Accident Insurance Plan while engaged in sponsored and supervised volunteer activities.

Thank you.

The Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy Announces a Call for Proposals for its Fellows Program for 2008-09

The Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy announces a call for proposals for its Fellows Program for 2008-09. Fellows will be affiliated with the Center and will study an aspect of public policy.

Since the program’s inception in 1990, the Center has hosted 106 Fellows from 36 departments at the UA.

With strong support from departments and colleges across campus, this program remains the only one of its kind at the UA and continues to draw first-rate policy scholars including a number of department heads and Regents’ professors, as well as outstanding junior faculty. At a time of university-wide budgetary constraints, this program provides an opportunity to encourage and reward excellence in public policy scholarship.

The Center invites proposals on topics that span the range of public policy. The projects of previous Fellows tend to cluster in several thematic areas: environment and natural resources; women, minorities, and indigenous peoples; health and human development; the theory of democracy and institutions; conflict resolution and decision-making; economic development; and science, technology, and society.

For information, please visit the Center’s Web site at udallcenter.arizona.edu or call Pamela Dixon at 626-4393 or e-mail her at padixon@u.arizona.edu.

The deadline for applications is March 7, 2008.
