Climate Change Projections for the United States

Overview

The following map images represent averaged projections of changes in temperature and precipitation for 2091-2100. Averages were calculated from 18 climate model simulations completed for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 4th Assessment Report under the A2, or "business as usual", scenario for greenhouse gas emissions. Projected changes for 2091-2100 are relative to temperature and precipitation averages during 1971-2000, and are interpolated to U.S. NOAA climate divisions by M. Hoerling and J. Eischeid at NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL).
