Tibetan and Horse

Our first expedition to Tibet took us to the eastern region where locals probably had not seen non-Asians before. Local Tibetans were happy nonetheless to help us transport gear from what passed as roads to Ren Co, one of our study lakes. They saved the day when the Chinese army stoves failed to work, and we turned to yak dung for cooking. Pictures of the Dalai Lama were much appreciated by our Tibetan friends.
