Our 500-year comparison of simulated climate change between the NASA GISS II atmospheric general circulation model (AGCM) and a new reconstruction shows a surprisingly good match, except that our simulation overestimated the impact of large volcanic eruptions. One implication is that eruptions bigger than that of Mount Pinatubo might not have any bigger an impact.
