The AGC is a research and outreach center shared among the Department of Geosciences, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, Laboratory of Tree Ring Research, Arizona Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Lab, and the Archeological Sciences Program at the UofA.
The AGC serves as a scientific, technologic, and organizational focal point for research involving the measurements, interpretations, and applications of ages and rates in earth and planetary materials and processes.
The Mission of the AGC:
To promote basic and applied geochronologic research in earth and planetary science
To develop technical and interpretational innovations in understanding natural processes and humans' place and interaction with them in temporal contexts
To augment understanding of geochronology, deep time, and environmental changes through time, across all segments of society.
