Directions: This site is the second westernmost site on the northern line. It is across the main road from the last Gendarmia station before you get to Chile. The site is in a tunnel whose entrance is covered by a dark tarp. A path leads across the stream, past some ruins, to the tunnel entrance however it may be difficult to find. In this case simply ask the Gendarmia guys for help.
Miscellaneous: The Gendarmia guys are very friendly and generally allow us to stay inside their outpost. It is best to phone ahead and tell them that you are planning on staying overnight as they don't really like surprises. It's good to bring some vino for the Gendarmia guys as well. When this site is occupied it will be necessary to construct a better "door" to the cave than currently exists. I think some plywood sheets should do the trick. Also, there is currently only a PVC pole structure installed for the solar panels, so it may be necessary to take along and install a big metal pole.
