"I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by ....."
John Masefield

This page contains a series of animations of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) coupled climate model output (GFDL-CM2.1) for the IPCC 4th Assessment
Sres-A2 scenario.

Two variables have been animated: rain in mm/day and surface air temperature in °C.

We have animated both the simulated data as well as the simulated monthly anomaly. The anomalies are defined as the difference from the monthly mean during the first five years of the simulation (2001-2005).

Time series below the animations are the average variables over Tucson and Arizona for each month with a centered 13-month running mean smoother applied. The vertical black line indicates the simulated month.
