Workshop 1: in-class discussion

During the first workshop we will break into groups and discuss the meaning of the word "hypothesis." After this in-class discussion you will write down your own definition of the word. (so, bring paper and pencil) The definition must include the five words below (try DiscoverySchool, Google or Wikipedia).

Don't list definitions of the words below. Instead, use these words correctly in a one-or-two sentence definition of the word "hypothesis."

After Class: D2L Workshop 1 (10 points)
  1. With the definition for the word "hypothesis" (based on the 5 words) log onto D2L. The workshop consists of multiple-choice questions about the 5 words
  2. Use your understanding of the word "hypothesis" to write a hypothesis that is the base of your seedling-growth experiment. Copy-and-paste that hypothesis into the space provided in D2L workshop 1.
  3. Begin the seed-germination experiment Saturday or Sunday at the latest See instructions (pdf) and see illustrations below.

You must show your GTA your seedling experiments before you can submit the experimental report.
