EXAM 2 NEXT FRIDAY (APR 3)

practice exam 1
practice exam 2
We discussed the upcoming exam in class today, but start now working with the practice exams: one labeled "2ndExam Review" on the Class Schedule, and the other "Practice Exam 2" under D2L "Quizzes and Workshops."

TERM PAPERS
Pairings in D2L Discussions Folders are complete. See your TA or Prof. Davis immediately if you are not paired.

Review Session
I'm sorry for the confusion about Marine Biome qestion. The first part of the aquatic ecosystems lecture is about "marine biomes" and the second part is about marine "life zones." The answer I gave was for "Life Zones" not "Biomes." I have rewritten the D2L questions to make that clear:
1. The global distribution of pelagic marine biomes is primarily determined by:
buoyancy
climate (correct)
nutrients
salt
temperature fluctuations

2. The distribution of marine life zones is determined by:
light
precipitation
pressure
temperature
a c & d (correct)

Another confusing question I've rewritten is hominid vs. hominin Hominidae (family) vs. Hominina (subtribe). The former originated about 12 million years ago, the latter about 6 million. Again I've rewritten and added questions.
I apologize for these questions. The GTAs and I read over the questions before each quiz is put online, and add new questions. We missed those two.

We're offering a 10-point extra quiz as thanks to persons who fill out a D2L Survey about their GTA. Log onto D2L and under "2009 Spring" and there will be a "NATS104 survey" option. After the April 17 Deadline, D2L will send me a list of persons who have done the survey. Those persons will be given access to a 10-point that will replace your lowest grade (workshops, then lecture quizzes).

WORKSHOP 10
1. Most students have access to workshop 4. The red circle Permission Required means "Permission Required" NOT "You cannot do this exercise."
2. Like Workshop 9, Workshop 10 has 2 parts
