Presumably, the pocket gopher hosts and their lice parasites would
speciate in response to the same vicarriant barriers or dispersal
events. However, 3 closely related lice (Geomydoceus thomomyus,
actuosi, and ewingi) infest two distantly related
pocket gophers (Thomomys and Geomys)
