Halogeton glomeratus (Halogeton), Chenopodiaceae. Native of the Mediterranean and central Asia. Introduced to U.S.A. in northeast Nevada 1935. Now common in arid rangeland in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. Poisonous to sheep and probably other animals, due to its high concentration of Oxalic Acid, which causes kidney damage.OKD 2/01Links Literature |
